First Dress Fitting - Crisis Averted!

I went for my first dress fitting yesterday, and I came out feeling great. My dress is not the nightmare it seemed, and the seamstress said there would be no problem at all in taking it in to fit me. Hooray! What a weight off my mind!

The lovely seamstress, Svetlana, pinned it in to how it would fit, and it looked great. It turns out the £40 I spent on lingerie wasn’t even needed, as the bra made my boobs have a silly shape once the dress was squeezing against me, so I will be going without. She even showed me the bustle, and it was so nice! And my hourglass figure is back!! The alteration fees are double what I expected, and depending how the dress fits on the second appointment, it may cost even more.

This month’s going to be a hard one, since I have to pay out my entire salary on the dress and the final payment of our honeymoon, which is also due. And on top of that I have rent, bills and living to pay for. I think perhaps it was a little unrealistic to expect to stay “in the black” in the run-up to the wedding; but at least I still have my overdraft, which is quite literally keeping me alive!

I guess I don’t really care though. I will just have to watch my spends for the next five weeks; so I will be leaving my credit and debit cards at home each day and only taking what cash I need for the day. It’s worked in the past…

The costs will be worth it, and I should be able to work my way back into the black by Christmas, so it’s not all bad. And by then I’ll have had a brilliant wedding and a beautiful honeymoon to look back on.

My next appointment is on 16th June, when I get to try on my dress and take more photos. Very excited...
